Blue Spruce Horticulture Planting Commitment

Our specialty in the field is dealing with all types of plants, and thus we pride ourselves in the expert attention we give to all of our plantings, both during and afterward. Our employees are trained thoroughly and continuously in the best management practices regarding the planting process. We also ensure that all trees, shrubs, and perennials are set up to receive adequate moisture via whichever system is in place. In addition, we go out of our way to regularly check in with all clients whom we have installed plants for either via phone or email as well as in person for at least the first 2 seasons.

about Blue Spruce Horticulture

A Quick Note On Climate Change

In recent years, in Colorado we have seen increased frequency of droughts, hotter, longer summers, milder, drier winters, and an overall increase in extreme weather. All of these factors contribute to a harsher environment in which for plants to grow and establish. This is part of the reason that we do not replace plants outright.

We Rely On You Too!

While we do our very best to set you up for success, there is no practical way for us to constantly keep an eye on all recent plantings. Therefore, we ask for your help! Please try to keep a regular eye on all new plantings, especially during the first few seasons. We appreciate you reaching out at the first sign of any plant stress such as:

  • Wilting (especially in the morning, plants will often wilt in mid-day heat)
  • Drying or browning leaves
  • Drying or Browning needles on conifers
  • Dry soil at the base of the plant
  • Any other potential signs of stress or irregularity

Replacement Policy

If a tree, shrub, perennial, etc. is determined, by us, to have died due to a fault of our own, such as being planted too high, or not having been connected to the irrigation system, we will replace the plant once, free of charge if the client requests. If the cause of death is indeterminable, and the client requests, we will replace the plant once, at our cost and not including labor to plant. Both of these provisions apply for a period of 1 year after planting. We always reserve the right to determine cause of death.
